Blueprint, a magazine from London that began publication in 1983 appears on the shelves at leading architectural institutions. The editorial content focuses on contemporary architecture, but there is a heavy dose of other design fields since ideas are shared across boundaries. There is a fine mix of critical articles alongside stunningly beautiful photographs of the latest architectural form (nothing wrong with some eye-candy).
This is a great gift idea for an architect interested in contemporary architecture with an eye toward the international scene. It is pricey and the order will take a bit of time to process, but the content of the magazine is well worth it. For a sneak-peak, check out the Blueprint Digital Version.
